PROJECT

"High School Sweethearts" will be produced by Sara Risher (Lord of the Rings, The Mask, Nightmare on

Elm Street) and Stephanie Austin (Terminator 2, True Lies, Behind Enemy Lines) through their Chickflicks

shingle, and brothers Grant and Parker Tilley through their CreativeWorks Entertainment banner.

“High School Sweethearts” follows the rise and fall of the most popular couple at Platt High School and the effects of their

turbulent romance on the entire school. The story skews popularity and power, relationships, adolescence and celebrity clichés.

LOGLINE

In 1937 Milwaukee, widowed Irishwoman Sara Flannigan and her five children meet German-born Nick Souter

and they become one family in a public housing project called “Parklawn”.

 

STORY

This drama is based on the actual 1999 discovery of a time capsule from 1937 at The Parklawn Public

Housing Project in Milwaukee.  The story centers around a German immigrant (Nicholas Souter) and his

uncle, who, while fighting for democracy in Austria, both flee to America.

 

They arrive in Wisconsin during the Depression in 1933 and find themselves struggling to survive in a squatters colony dubbed

Hooverville. Souter marries an Irish widow (Sara Flannigan) with five children and finds himself struggling to keep the family together

and withstand the anti-German atmosphere in Pearl Harbor's aftermath.

the consequences!  It’s the high school graduation party of all time at a sprawling Louisiana Plantation Estate.  A group of friends set out
